When I went in for the photo shoot for the cover art, I did not have a title for the CD or for the song.

We actually hung all of these beautiful and expensive guitars from the ceiling in the photo studio. It was awesome (and scary).

As I was standing in the the room with all of these wonderful instruments I realized how comfortable I felt and how if I am having a rough day, I just pick a guitar and play, I feel better.

Like a great friend (or companion) can be, my guitars gave me solace.

I remember that day stating I was “Among Friends”.

I had been to Manhattan and was so caught in the energy that I felt from that trip!

I was just buzzing with excitement. My departure flight circled around and I could see NY from the air….WOW…it was so cool!

I immediately thought about the people I met and the experience I just had .

The time I spent there will never be forgotten.

I wrote “Time in times Square” to commemorate and capture some of the pace and energy of the that experience.

A short time after I moved, my mother became ill and passed away.

I was already feeling alone due to the culture shock and then after my mom passed I really felt the effect of being in a new place and not knowing many people.

This song came from that experience and the need to have “Friends”.

We all know April Fools day is a “fun” day, this however was a sad day for us, so I did a play on words.

He played trumpet with James Brown for 20+ years and is currently with Josh Stone.

Of course Miles Davis is a huge influence to most jazz musicians.

Hollie and I wanted to capture the muted trumpet sound with hopes of adding the “Miles” flavor to this worldly sounding tune.
